One small way that college students can keep
informed about this conflict as well as other current events without sacrificing
much time, effort, or money is by watching a world news station for at least 30
minutes per day. News stations that present global news stories such as CNN or
BBC are constantly airing breaking news stories from around the world. They
also have interviews and talk shows with people who are authorities about
things such as the Israeli/Palestinian conflict in order to give people a
better take on the subject with expert opinions. They even give viewers an
inside look at things that happen far away through footage and live video.
Watching the news doesn’t even have to take place on its own; one can have it
on simultaneously while doing many tasks throughout the day such as cooking or
homework. Even this small task can help keep people better informed about the
world around them and not stuck in their comfortable American bubbles. The more
informed college students are, the more likely they are to act and make a
difference.
